Penrhiw Farm Latest
hello,
We are back ! Our computer died and very slowly we are rebuilding and restoring all our lost data. I am hopeful a visit from a professional later today will finally end the month of frustration and anguish. It's back to pen and paper for me !!
What has happened over the past month ?? At Penrhiw, cows are all in, the tups (rams) are out with the ewes, calving has finished for 2019 - not without a bit of trauma on the last calving of the year. Maisie, a first time mother, gave one push too many and displaced her womb - a classic prolapse. It was awful but Jane, our wonderful vet, came to the rescue and put everything back where it should be. Cow and calf are doing really well and fingers crossed Maisie should live on to have many more calves. At Cefn Coed, the new yard concreting is well underway and cows should be inside soon out of the mud. They have plenty of shelter in the woods and are fed on a stubble field but it is seriously muddy.
Busy market weekend - usual Rhiwbina and Riverside with Usk, Tonteg and Roath on Saturday. Hopefully wil get some extra help fro the Christmas week Beth your pinny is waiting !!
